Beschluß von Rat und Volk;Kranaos S.d. Ktesiphon aus dem Demos Besa stellte den Antrag: WorüberBericht erstattet der Priester des Asklepios, nämlich über die Opfer,die er opferte dem Asklepios in der Stadt und der Hygieiaund den anderen Göttern, denen es traditionell Brauch war, zu Glück und Heil!,wolle beschließen der Rat: dass die Vorsitzenden, die erlostsein werden zum Vorsitz im Volk für die nächsteVolksversammlung hierüber verhandeln lassen unter dem Punkt „Sakrales“ unddie Beschlussvorlage des Rates in die Volksversammlung einbringen, wonach der Rates für gut befindet, dass man das Gute billige, das geschehen ist beiden Opfern für das Heil und die Rettung des Rates unddes Volkes und der Kinder und Frauen 〚und des KönigsAntigonos und - - -〛; – Da der Priester, amhöchsten die Frömmigkeit gegenüber den Göttern erachtend,das Opfer geopfert hat - - -dem Gott und den Altartisch geschmückt hat in guter und ehr-geiziger Weise und die Nachtfeier ausgerichtet hat würdig des Gottes:dass man belobige den Priester des Asklepios - - - S.d. - - - aus dem DemosXypeteII wegen seiner Frömmigkeit gegenüber den Göttern und seinesEhrgeizes für den Rat und das Volk der Athener;dass diesen Beschluss der Sekretär, der während der Prytanieamtiert, aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle in demAsklepieion; dass für die Aufzeichnung und die Steleder Finanzverwalter die entstandenen Kosten begleiche.vacat 0,03

The Council and People decided.Kranaos son of Ktesiphon of [Besa] proposed: concerning whatthe priest of Asklepios reports about the sacrificeswhich he made to Asklepios in the city and to Hygieiaand to the other gods for whom it is traditional, for good fortune,the Council shall decide: that the presiding committee allottedto preside in the People for the [next or upcoming] Assemblyshall put the matter on the agenda as an item of the sacred business and submitthe opinion of the Council to the People, that it seemsgood to the Council to accept the good things that occurred inthe sacrifices for the health and preservation of the Council andthe People and children and women 〚and kingAntigonos and - - - - - - - - -〛; since the priest,placing highest value on piety to the gods,made the sacrifice - - -to the god and adorned the table well and with love of honourand conducted the all-night revel in a way worthy of the god, topraise the priest of Asklepios - - - son of - - - ofXypete for his piety towards the gods andlove of honour towards the Council and the Athenian People;and the prytany secretary shall inscribe thisdecree on a stone stele and stand it in theAsklepieion; and for the inscription and the stele theadministrator shall allocate the expenditure accrued.
